Politics of Plastic Surgery

surgeonToday’s media, whether online, print or the big screen often focuses on the beautiful people. You know those people who seem to always look wonderful – perfect hair, beautiful smiles, great looking skin and well-toned bodies. And, while most people recognize that not everyone always looks like they are heading to a photo shoot, it can still be discouraging for some to look in the mirror and not see glamour. As a result, there are numerous products and alternatives available to help them feel better about themselves. One such option of that is plastic surgery.

However, one should keep in mind that plastic surgery is not just something for the Hollywood set, but also something that anyone can take advantage of in looking for a way to boost their spirits. In fact, while plastic surgery may seem to be something that has only begun to be applied in the past several decades, cosmetic surgery can actually trace its beginning back to 4000 B.C. when physicians in in India began using it in the form of skin grafts.

It should also be pointed out that while the term, plastic surgery is common it is not a reflection on the type of material used or as a reference to being fake. However, it was not until the late 1800s and early 1900s that plastic surgery began to make advances towards becoming what we know it as today. This rise in the use of plastic surgery is due largely in part to the political climate, in other words, the World Wars. Surgeons found themselves faced with numerous heroes, who had fought to defend freedoms, but in doing so found them selves maimed and in need of extensive facial surgery, head injuries and other damage due to battle. Surgeons were diligent, and began stretching the accepted capabilities of cosmetic surgery and numerous advancements were made.

By the mid-1960s, other forms of cosmetic surgery had started to become popular; one of the most common surgeries was that of breast augmentation – a trend that is still popular today. Of course, today’s cosmetic surgeons recognize, as did their earlier counterparts, that plastic surgery is as much about the psychological as it is about the physical. They spend time talking to their patients to help them see their bodies as beautiful and to love who they are, not just what they look like.

Yes, cosmetic surgery has made many advancements, but there is still nothing more important than looking in the mirror and loving yourself for who you are and if that means having some plastic surgery to help you achieve that sense of well-being, then talk to a cosmetic surgeon such as Dr. Weiner at www.phoenixplasticsurgeonsmd.com/rhinoplasty-scottsdale/

What Is Socialized Medicine?

medical medicineAs a political hot button topic, talk of socialized medicine is frequent the twenty-four hour news networks these days. However, despite this prominence, I am often surprised how much of the general public does not understand what it is. It is hard to have a strong opinion on a subject, let alone make any votes based on that opinion, when one does not fully understand it. As such, I would like to take this opportunity to help lay out its definition and what that entails.

In a word by word definition, socialized medicine could refer to any form of healthcare with a socialistic economic system. However, in common vernacular there are some very specific meanings and connotations. In this sense, it is typically synonymous with the phrase €universal healthcare.€ In this system, healthcare becomes a government offered service much like police and fire departments. It exists to serve the citizenry as needed. The model used by many European nations serves as the stereotype for this type of medical system.

There is a common misconception that universal healthcare is free. This could not be further from the truth. It is true that there is usually no bill in exchange for services rendered. But, rather, it is paid for by tax payer money. The public still foots the bill, just not directly. Healthcare related taxes are almost always much higher in countries that use socialized medicine. However, it should be noted that the overall medical related costs may actually be lower compared to systems that are more capitalistic in nature.

Another main misconception on socialistic healthcare is that it provides poor service. Admittedly, this is valid in a few nations that use this system, yet it is not an issue to the system itself. This conviction originates from the way that the pay rates of surgeons and doctors are lower than they are in the United States, so socialized medicine cannot lure the same talent. In truth, doctors and surgeons still do very well financially in most countries, usually much better than the general population so the appeal is still there for talented people to go into medicine. Also, it should be noted that by every available metric, the US does not offer the best healthcare system in the world. It lags behind many European social healthcare states to a degree that might surprise many of its defenders.

Ultimately, there are good and bad aspects of socialized medicine depending on the eye of the beholder. I implore you to just ensure that you are informed on the subject and its possible strengths and weaknesses before getting too opinionated about it in either direction. Before you rest on your opinions, check out this article on Forbes which should give you some new perspectives on things.

The verbal confrontation of this issue is still generally determined by online networking, which is interfacing the partners in this open deliberation, including politicians, patients, and medical specialists. Intuitive dialogs run uncontrolled about utilization of medical marijuana in circumstances where standard affirmed medical cures can’t give vital help. Such social examinations have picked up the consideration of politicians who offer some backing of the issue. This brings trust that the civil argument will convey change to human beings just like how plastic surgery does. In spite of the fact that the substance is still unlawful at the federal level, some states have passed political measures that will make medical marijuana legitimate, these are for example Alaska and Arizona.

In this way, open gatherings on the point have served to give scientific discoveries and well known assessments about the upsides and downsides of medical marijuana. Likewise with any choice identified with wellbeing, the greater part assumes it ought to be less subject to governmental issues and more determined by scientific information. Some point out that the stunning piece of this civil argument is the way that smoking cigarettes is lawful, despite the fact that it is scientifically demonstrated that they hurt clients. Marijuana, then again, is unlawful, despite the fact that it is likewise smoked, has comparative negative impacts as cigarettes, yet has been indicated to recuperate or generally help some individuals with serious wellbeing conditions. What’s the hold up? Evidently there is still constrained scientific comprehension of the useful pathways of the medication. There is trust, however, yet science additionally alerts us to the dangers, including lung harm and debilitated invulnerable frameworks. Scientists still highlight medical marijuana if all else fails.

The genuine issue here appears to remain absence of training on the point. Online discourse configurations could give that instructive apparatus that will battle adversaries’ greatest apprehensions. Their principle concern is that marijuana affirmed for medical utilization (subsequently misjudged as “protected”) will convey the wrong message to young people and other people who may utilize the substance unlawfully thus. Isn’t saw “security” the very issue we are combatting with respect to cigarettes, too?
